Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ben's Toolbox and the related website, macOS app and companion apps process data.
Controller
The controller is Bendix Amonat, Seilerstr. 15 G, 30171 Hannover, Germany. Contact: info@bens-toolbox.com.
Website and accounts
When you visit the website, server log data may be processed. For accounts, trials, licenses, support and downloads we process the email address, license status, anonymous device identifiers or hashes, timestamps, app versions and technical status information where needed for operation, security, abuse prevention and support.
Anonymous product improvement
Ben's Toolbox may send anonymous or pseudonymous product-improvement data to the Ben's Toolbox server. This includes internal action identifiers, counters, trigger source such as Mac, shortcut, Stream Deck, iPad or iPhone, app version, app language, autostart status, macOS/Logic Pro version, MIDI device status and technical error categories. No project content, track names, plugin names, files, lyrics, audio or MIDI content is transferred.
Purpose and sharing
This data is used only internally to improve stability, compatibility, feature usage, support and the development of Ben's Toolbox. It is not sold and is not shared with third parties for advertising, tracking or profiling.
Trial and license
During the trial, this product-improvement option is active so technical issues and real-world use can be evaluated more reliably. With an active license, the option can be turned off in the macOS app. License and trial data is processed for activation, abuse prevention and access to purchased features.
Support and error reports
When support or an error report is sent directly from the app, the information and attachments shown in that dialog may be uploaded to the server to process the request. This happens only when the user actively uses the support or diagnostic flow.
Companion apps
Ben's Toolbox Remote, Motion and Stream Deck normally communicate locally with the macOS app. When actions are triggered through them, the macOS app may count that trigger source in anonymous product-improvement data.
Third-party services
Payments and invoices are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. App Store downloads are processed by Apple. Ben's Toolbox does not use third-party ad networks or third-party analytics for app usage data.
Retention and rights
Data is retained only as long as needed for operation, security, support, legal obligations or product improvement. Users can request access, correction or deletion according to applicable law.
